Top of the World Tour 2012
Are you looking for the Adventure of a Lifetime?
Expressions of interest are being sought for a group of travelers to accompany Geshe Sonam Thargye on a Tour to Tibet – undoubtedly the experience of a lifetime.
THE TOUR FEATURES:
Twenty one days in western China/east Tibet experiencing two great cultures ~ from the bustling city of Chengdu with its surrounding tourist attractions to the heartland of the Tibetan culture in the Ganzi region of East Tibet.
The itinerary includes visits to the Panda Research Centre, Chinese Opera and night markets of Chengdu and the Giant Buddha at Leshan; a traditional Tibetan village home stay, camping out in the Tibetan countryside, visits to monasteries and nunneries, meeting the students and nuns of the Nying Jey Projects sponsorship program and the journey back through the Nyarong Gorges and Lithang, the highest town in the world.
Travel through the spectacular Himalayan landscape with local Tibetan guides and Geshe Sonam.
This is a unique opportunity for people of all ages to join a native born Tibetan on a visit to his homeland to see how the hardy Tibetan people live.
Ganzi (Khandze) is a rural centre of farming and commerce in the former Tibetan province of Kham, now Sichuan, China.
The town nestles in a beautiful fertile valley amid the majestic splendour of the Himalayan landscape. The very colourful traditional Tibetan culture is still very evident throughout the region.
