Students (India)

The Department of Education in Dharamsala has identified all the students below as from very poor families or orphaned and in great need of assistance to continue their education. A number of male students are in monk robes. They live at the monastery as their parents cannot look after them at home. They still attend their local school for education.

If you are interested in sponsoring a student in India, please contact us. Currently we have four students looking for sponsorships, please read details below.

I am Tenzin Chosang (M520), female, born 24-Dec 2000, a bona fide Tibetan refugee, resident of Camp No. 1, House No. 45 Choglamsar, UT Ladakh, India. I did my schooling from SOS TCV School Ladakh up until Class 10 followed by Class 11&12 at TCV School Suja in Himachal Pradesh. I am currently pursuing a Nursing Course in Bangalore, South India.

Calamity dawned on us when my father, who cared so much about my education and was the pillar of family, died five years ago leaving me and my illiterate mother in the cruel hands of destiny. Things went worse when dreams came face to face with the reality. But the fighting streak in me told me to not let go of my dream. The dream that I nurture to grow myself into a strong educated woman. I know that my illiterate mother cannot provide for my educational expenses, however much she might wish. The little earning she makes from random manual work could barely provide for food and clothing needs of the family. I strongly wish to continue my education and be able to stand on my own two feet.
